Oss (Heesen Yachts) - Heesen Yachts has launched the largest yacht in its fleet to date: Y/N 17470 (aka Project Kometa) now christened Galactica Super Nova.

Heesen Yachts is delighted to announce the launch of the largest yacht in its fleet to date, the 70m FDHF superyacht Project Kometa. The owners have christened their new yacht Galactica Super Nova.

Galactica Super Nova is not only the biggest yacht built by Heesen Yachts to date, but she is also one of the top 200 largest yachts in the world and one of the fastest yachts for her size.

Oss (Heesen Yachts ) - Heesen Yachts is proud to announce that after intensive sea trials in the North Sea, YN 17145 Amore Mio – the largest and most powerful sports yacht ever built in the Netherlands – has been delivered to her owners in international waters as scheduled.

The sea trials took place on January 18, 19 and 21 in southeasterly prevailing winds and waves of 0.5 to 1 metres. Powered by twin MTU 16V diesel engines, Amore Mio’s sleek 45-metre aluminium hull sliced through the seas at a thundering top speed of 30 knots. Not only did she meet all the contractual speed requirements, but the sea trials also proved the all-aluminium superyacht to be very quiet and highly maneuverable.

Y/N 18050 is the third contract – for a new build – sold in 2015 by this Dutch shipyard. In fact, Heesen Yachts has ten yachts under construction with deliveries running into 2018. Project Alba started before her sale and her new experienced owners, by acquiring a yacht already under construction, have gained all the advantages of a new-build without the long lead-time.

Last month, experienced seafarer Captain Stan Mawyer was charged with delivering a new Australian-designed and built Riviera 515 SUV from Boston, Massachusetts, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 1,250 nautical mile journey would be rough, and Captain Mawyer anticipated needing to duck into the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) during the journey to avoid the perilous conditions on the East Coast’s open waters.
